Privacy Policy

Fallweise helps people learn German through self-study lessons, vocabulary practice, pronunciation audio, progress synchronisation, and optional voice lessons with Mia.
Information we process
- Account identifier: a user identifier is used when you sign in or synchronise progress.
- Learning activity: completed lessons, answers, review history, and curriculum progress are stored so learning can resume across sessions.
- Voice input: when you deliberately start a Mia voice lesson, microphone audio is streamed to provide speech recognition and conversational feedback. Fallweise does not store voice recordings.
- Diagnostics: service providers may process limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot their services.
How information is used
Information is used only to deliver lessons, personalise review, synchronise progress, respond during voice sessions, and maintain the reliability and security of the app. Fallweise does not use data for advertising and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Service providers
Fallweise uses Supabase for account and progress synchronisation, LiveKit and associated speech services for optional voice lessons, and Cloudflare for delivery of pronunciation audio and learning assets. These providers process data only as needed to supply their respective services and under their own privacy and security terms.
Microphone control
The microphone is used only after you start a voice lesson and grant permission. Self-study lessons work without microphone access. You can revoke microphone permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Retention and deletion
Learning progress is retained to provide continuity until it is deleted or the associated account is removed. Voice recordings are not retained by Fallweise. To request access to or deletion of your information, contact us at the address below.
Children
Fallweise is a general-audience education app and is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorisation.
